Pink queen
Pink Queen is a cheese made with high-quality thermised milk from Switzerland’s Toggenburg region. Fresh milk is delivered daily to the dairy. Animal welfare is very important. In summer, the cows pasture outside every day and in winter, they’re fed with hay from the farm. This cheese is lactose and gluten free due to the traditional production method and carefully-monitored natural ripening. Above all, this cheese has a unique look that will not go unnoticed thanks to the dark pink tint from a natural carmine red colourant. It comes from the body and eggs of the cochineal, an insect similar to an aphid, obtained by grinding the female’s dried body. This colour dates back to Antiquity when it was once used to tint fabrics. Today it is used in foods and cosmetics. The cheese’s soft texture, and spicy, slightly tangy taste are extremely pleasant on the palate. It is ripened for 5 months. With its colour, this product will add a bright spot to your cheese counter. It will also be a perfect ingredient in your kitchen for creating unique recipes!
